Until The End

After losing his best friend Haruto, Ren shuts himself away from the world. One day, he discovers an old adventure notebook with a treasure map signed by Haruto. Before he can make sense of it, a familiar hand reaches out to him, inviting him on one more adventure…

Ren has been blaming himself for Haruto’s death and has shut himself away from the world, unable to even attend his funeral. Seeing this, Haruto returns to take Ren on one last adventure through the memories they shared. The treasure map eventually leads Ren to Haruto’s grave, where he finally begins to understand that Haruto never blamed him. The real treasure was never something waiting at the end of the map, but the friendship and memories they shared. Haruto leaves Ren with one final wish: to let go of his guilt and keep living, carrying those memories with him.

RISOGRAPH PRINTING

Until The End was created using two-color Risograph printing. Each page was separated into blue and yellow layers, then printed together to create the final image. Working with only two colors also allowed me to explore contrast, texture, and different tones through overlapping colors.

Blue Layer

The blue layer contains most of the linework, shadows, and darker areas.

Yellow Layer

The yellow layer adds lighter areas, highlights, and additional color.

Final (Blue + Yellow)

The two layers are printed together to create the final image, with additional tones appearing where the colors overlap.
