SproutCare

Supporting educators. Helping every child grow.

SproutCare is a design project created to support childcare educators working with children with disabilities. It aims to make learning resources and practical guidance easier to access, helping educators feel more prepared and confident in their everyday work.

The Problem

During my research, I came across discussions from childcare educators who wanted to help children with disabilities but weren't always sure how. Some shared their frustration with limited training and the challenges they faced in their daily work.

This made me think about how I could use design to make learning and support easier to access.

Target Audience

Daycare teachers and other childcare professionals who work with children with disabilities. They care about supporting every child but may need more accessible resources, practical guidance, and opportunities to
learn from others.

From Research to Design

To address these challenges, I developed SproutCare through three connected design outcomes. Each serves a different purpose while working toward the same goal of making support more accessible and approachable.

Output 1: Website

Output 2: Poster

Output 3: Vedio

Output 1: Website

The SproutCare website provides childcare educators with learning resources, practical guidance, and a space to connect with others. The design focuses on clear navigation and organized content, making it easier for educators to find what they need and learn at their own pace.

Sketches

I started by exploring different page layouts, focusing on how to organize the content and make navigation simple and clear.

Final Layout

The final design brings together the homepage, courses, individual lessons, community, and user dashboard. I used a consistent visual style and clear page structure to make the learning experience easier to follow.

Output 2: Posters

Interactive Poster

The interactive poster is designed to be displayed in places such as daycare staff rooms. Educators can write down their questions, concerns, or challenges on sticky notes and add them to the poster.

By seeing what others have shared, they can realize they are not alone in facing these challenges. The poster also introduces SproutCare as a place to find helpful resources and guidance.

Feature Posters

This series of three posters highlights different features of the SproutCare website. Each poster focuses on one feature, introducing what the platform offers and encouraging educators to explore it.

Output 3: Videos

These videos present both the poster concept and the website experience of SproutCare. One focuses on bringing the poster idea to life by visualizing the shift from questions to confidence, while the other highlights key moments on the website to show how the platform supports childcare educators in a simple, accessible way. Together, they help convey the project's core idea through motion rather than static visuals alone.

Storyboard

Storyboard 1: The storyboard follows an educator facing different challenges and writing down their questions. As more questions appear, they come together on the interactive poster, leading to SproutCare as a place to find guidance and support.

Storyboard 2: The storyboard plans how the video moves through SproutCare’s main website features, showing the learning experience, community interactions, and user profile before ending with the SproutCare identity.
