Parade of Sins

This piece reimagines the Chinese zodiac through the lens of the Seven Deadly Sins and the spirit of the Hyakki Yagyō, the supernatural night parade from Japanese folklore. Each animal embodies a human vice, transforming familiar cultural symbols into figures of desire, excess, and moral tension.

Set within a glowing festival procession, the scene blurs celebration and unease, suggesting how human flaws often hide beneath spectacle and tradition.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

The character concept began with the twelve Chinese zodiac animals and the seven deadly sins. I expanded the idea by giving each animal a different human flaw or personality trait, then explored how those traits could influence their clothing, body shape, posture, and overall appearance
